New Calls for Grants open!
G-03-2025 and G-04-2025
Two new calls for grants have opened for the FORWARDS website.
The first one, G-03-2025, is entitled Pilots of long-term climate impact forest monitoring sites: Linking stand-level information and remote sensing. The second one, G-04-2025, is titled Pilots of long-term climate impact forest monitoring sites: Providing temporally resolved ecosystem-level information on the effects of climatic drivers on forest structure and function in near real-time.
Both calls aim to increase the potential of existing forest monitoring sites to link the ground-based information with remote sensing in order to better assess the impact of climate and climatic extremes on trees and forests. Projects applying to G-03-2025 should use hyperspectral (ideally aircraft-based) remote sensing approaches and provide the relevant ground-truthing. Projects applying to G-04-2025 should use nowcasting approaches, such as measuring tree water deficit with point dendrometers in response to drought, and link existing long-term assessments with the new measurements.
Updated deadline: 21 September.
