In late March 2026, Serena Antonucci and Diana Alfieri, representing the University of Molise as a FORWARDS partner, were invited to participate in a local event in Montedimezzo (the FORWARDS Demosite in central Italy). The event focused on developing the first Action Plan for the UNESCO MAB Biosphere Reserve in Alto Molise.

The event brought together local stakeholders, including public authorities, associations, businesses, and citizens, to share ideas and proposals aimed at fostering sustainable development across the area. This marked an important first step in developing a participatory strategy that balances environmental protection with local economic and social needs.

This was a valuable opportunity for FORWARDS to present the activities currently being carried out across the Italian demosite, as well as to showcase the digital tools developed within the project — including the web apps designed to support monitoring, data collection, and stakeholder engagement.
