Can science, policy and practice in forest knowledge systems go together?

TRANSFORMIT project is hosting a webinar on 26 November at 4:00 - 5:30 pm

On 26 November from 4om to 5:30 pm, the FORWARDS sister project TRANSFORMIT is hosting a webinar entitled ‘Beyond Boundaries: Linking Science, Policy, and Practice in Forest Knowledge Systems ’.

This 90-minute webinar will bring together experts from the fields of science, policy and practice, as well as indigenous communities, and civil society, to discuss how forest and biodiversity knowledge can be better connected and put into action. Rather than long presentations, the event will focus on open dialogue, beginning with brief contributions from our panellists and followed by a moderated discussion.

We will explore how different knowledge systems can be made more accessible and how they can collaborate to support biodiversity conservation and sustainable forest management in a changing climate. Participants are encouraged to contribute questions and experiences via a Padlet board before and during the session.

The webinar will also highlight where to find reliable, tailored information – including an introduction to the new Forest Knowledge Gateway. Moderated by Jo O’Hara, the session aims to strengthen knowledge exchange networks and inspire more inclusive collaboration across forest-related communities.
